New York Real Estate is booming! I can't think of a time it hasn't been, in one way or another though.
Sometimes -- often, in fact -- I read stories about poets or jazz musicians or painters living in New York in the fifties and I wonder how they could afford it. By all accounts they were the poorest of the poor.
But now, New York real estate is extremely expensive -- even the tiny apartments. I want to blame the increase in living standards, but that doesn't seem fair. Better, I think, to say that New York real estate companies know and exploit the fact that people will pay anything to live at the hub of the world.
